Eonia Diamonds test positive for diamond because they confirm the same spike as diamond on Raman Spectroscophic Analysis. This is due to the pure diamond content of the Eonia Diamond® and the molecular structure of the stone as a whole. Eonia Diamonds also test positive for diamond on any hand-held industry diamond tester, including the Presidium Multi Tester III and GemTrue Tester.
The Eonia Diamond® shares the same hardness as diamond, and scores a 9.95-10 on the MOHs scale.
The MOHs scale is determined by the Vickers Hardness test which calculates the hardness of a material through testing the pressure in GPa* needed to create an indentation upon that material.

An Eonia Diamond is a dual crystalline gemstone, composed of absolutely pure diamond (sp3 bonds) grown into the core gemstone. Unlike any diamond alternative produced and available on the market, the Eonia Diamond rivals diamond in the most critical ways: it is as hard as diamond, shares the same visual characteristics and tests positive for diamond. Due to their increased toughness, an Eonia Diamond is also far more resistant to chipping and cracking than diamond and does not exhibit the cleaving issues that earth-mined and lab grown diamonds possess. This means an Eonia is easy to set (and reset) in jewellery, and very, very difficult to damage through normal wear and tear. Lab Grown Diamond
Lab grown diamonds have been gaining momentum, particularly over the past five years. Identical in molecular structure and chemical composition, lab grown diamonds are diamonds, and thus will test positive for diamond. There are two types of lab grown stones marketed today, HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) which utilises pressure and temperature to compress graphite into diamond, and CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition) which grows diamond from the ground up. Due to their method of creation, a lab grown diamond will not possess the same uniqueness as an earth mined diamond. Lab grown diamonds have become increasingly popular because they are less expensive than earth mined diamonds and provide an eco-friendly, ethically produced diamond choice.

Earth Mined Diamond
For centuries earth mined diamonds have represented the most valuable and expensive of any precious gemstone. Earth mined diamonds are pure carbon, created over eons in the earth’s core. The extraction of natural diamonds has caused and continues to cause significant and irreparable damage to the earth, and the sourcing of earth mined diamonds have historically been connected to extreme human rights violations (hence the term blood diamond). However, despite the controversial nature of their origins, earth mined diamonds maintain their prime position with regards to value and desirability. Just as each snowflake is unique, because it is a naturally occurring phenomenon, so too are natural (below the earth) diamonds. The market for mined diamonds is carefully controlled, and pricing is set by the RAPPAPORT Index. Earth mined diamonds of high quality command very high prices.
